Lyndale Green to break ground

Lyndale Green, a new housing and commercial project on the northeast corner of 28th Street and Lyndale Avenue, is scheduled to break ground Friday, November 19th, 2010. The project includes 63 units of affordable housing and 7,000 square feet of commercial space in a new four-story building. The site currently consists of a parking lot and a more modern portion of the Salem English Lutheran Church.

Brighten Development will develop the building. Salem English Lutheran Church and Lyndale United Church of Christ are rehabilitating the 1904 church adjacent the new building. The renovated church will be a ministry center for the two congregations and other community serving organizations.

A ground breaking event for Lyndale Green will take place at the site at 2:30pm on Friday, November 19th, 2010.
