Images of Uptown – Windsurfers

A close up view of the windsurfer art piece on top of Lake Calhoun Center. A few years ago, the fiber optic lights were replaced with LED strands. The glow of the windsurfers light up the West Calhoun sky, and many know the Lake Calhoun Center as the building with the windsurfers on top of it, although many also recall it as sailboats. In talking with a previous property manager, the art installation went up when the 1950s building was renovated in the late 1980s.

Thanks for the close-up shot of the windsurfers (great shot). I’ve walked, bike and driven past it probably over a 1,000 times and had no idea it was so colorful.
