Open Streets Minneapolis
Sunday, June 12, 2011
Location: Lyndale Avenue from 22nd Street to 42nd Street

The first ever Open Streets Minneapolis event will convert Lyndale Avenue from 10am-2pm for one day, allowing you to walk, blade, bike, or even hop your way down the center of the street. Put on by the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition, they looked at the ciclovia events taking place around the globe where they’ve been embraced and thousands of people flock out to experience their city as well as meet and greet with their neighbors.

Uptown Market
Sundays starting June 12th through September 25th
Location: 29th Street between Dupont Avenue and Lyndale Avenue

The Uptown Market is a street fair with farmers, food product producers, food trucks, and an array of art and craft producers.

Nature Valley Bicycle Festival – Uptown Criterium
Friday, June 17th, 4:30pm – 9:00pm
Location: Hennepin & Lake

The Nature Valley Bicycle Festival returns to Uptown for its third year. The event features some of the top athletes in the USA as they race around the 0.88 KM course, which includes a turn from Lake Street onto Hennepin with the finish line at 31st and Hennepin.

Uptown Pride Block Party
Friday, June 24th, 2011, 6pm-10pm
Location: Bryant Avenue & Lake Street

This annual event includes live music, performance, and local food. The 2011 Uptown Pride Block Party will feature Maria Isa, Venus DeMars and All the Pretty Horses, Chastity Brown, Mrs. Smith, Pennyroyal, Dykes do Drag, and more. Like last year, the event’s sponsors and vendors along with a partnership with Eureka! Recycling has helped make the event Zero Waste.

Bastille Day

Come celebrate Uptown, Barbette, and summer at this gem of a little event right in the heart of Uptown. A street fair put on by Barbette complete with music, live performers, artists and more. Details to come soon.

Uptown Art Fair

One of the country’s top fine art festivals, the Uptown Art Fair is back with 350 artists from around the country showcasing their top art.

Sand & Saddles Parking Lot Party

The 3rd Annual Sand & Saddles Parking Lot Party at Cowboy Slims will move to August and will feature lots and lots of sand, water, and games. Stay tuned for more information.

Pizza Luce Block Party

The 9th Annual Pizza Luce Block Party has yet to release the specifics but is bound to be a fantastic party once again. The event features a robust selection of local bands, including Dessa, City on the Make, Brother Ali, and more in 2010. Along with music, the event features food, drinks, and other activities.

Wheels of Italy

Happening a month earlier than past years, the Wheels of Italy car and motorcycle show will continue to dazzle Uptown with some of the hottest rides around.

Minneapolis Greek Festival
Friday, September 9th, 2011 through Sunday, September 11th, 2011

The 23rd Annual Minneapolis Greek Festival is coming back to Uptown this September offering everything Greek, from Greek music, Greek food, Greek dancing, and Greek products and art. Come celebrate with the Greek community.
