My Burger, a quick-casual burger joint from Downtown Minneapolis, will open its second location at 3100 Excelsior Boulevard in West Calhoun. The store hasn’t announced when it will open but the build out of the space would seem to suggest an opening is likely sometime in early November. The restaurant is opening in a new building that will have at least one other tenant, though it’s not immediately clear whether a tenant has signed on to the space. The building replaced the Boulevard Gardens.

EyeDeals, the boutique eyewear and vision clinic that was in Calhoun Square since the early years of the 1980s, moved from Calhoun Square to 3042 Hennepin Avenue. The new store is smaller than the previous location but more efficient in its layout. The space, adjacent Salon Levante and Paper Source, was previously occupied by Brides of France.

India Home Décor and Gifts by Geetanjoli will open in Calhoun Square. The store will feature handmade gifts and home decor, such as chairs, rugs, frames, and more and will be run by Mary Kumar, who also owns Geetanjoli Sari Fashion in Calhoun Square. Kumar was quoted in a press release as saying: “Everything we sell will provide its owner a small slice of joy. We offer colorful and exotic products to add ambiance to the home. The Uptown neighborhood has a great appreciation of diverse culture. Our goal is to let everyone take a little piece of India home. We want shoppers to feel like a kid in a candy store so we’ve assembled a wide range of home goods to provide something for everyone.”

Hart and Soul Herbal, an organic skin care, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy products retailer, will open in Calhoun Square first as a kiosk and then in traditional retail space. They offer vegan, organic, kosher, and other natural products.
