What percentage of your shopping is done locally? What stores or businesses would you like to see in Uptown that are not located here currently?

I really wish Uptown would get a toy store; I have good memories of the Toy Boat (Calhoun Square) and wish there was something like that now. I’d also love to have a thrift shop with housewares — a Value Village or equivalent. For the most part, though, I think Uptown is pretty good for covering most of the basics.

I do about half of my non-grocery shopping online. About 80% of my brick-and-mortar shopping is local.

The Trader Joes’s on Lyndale would be a fantastical addition to the area, although hopefully in a more pedestrian friendly, denser, mixed use, and less suburban form.

But far and away the number one thing uptown needs is a hotel!

All of my shopping is done locally. I would love to see more clothing stores..ones that don’t cater to the following:

    “affliction crowd” – Atmosfere, V-State
“furnture” – Cb2, Roam, DWR, etc.
    “outdoors” – Northface, Timberland, Columbia
“faster fashion” – Urban Outfitters, Heartbreaker

Oska is opening at 50th and France and Arrow just opened in the Northloop…Where does Uptown fashion shopping fit into this picture?
