Question of the Week: clothing stores in Uptown?
Featured, Shopping — By Cedar Phillips on March 5, 2012 4:29 amDo have a favorite go-to clothing store in Uptown? Are you able to find what you need in the neighborhood? Are there gaps you would like to see filled?

I used to have a favorite clothing store there…it was Intoto! The market for well constructed/quality clothing still exists in this area..
As far as gaps go…I would love to see a non-chain, locally owned store that carries great lines for men and women(Similar to a Len Druskin conecpt)….if not, chain stores like the following will do:
Diesel(before the Mall of America or Northloop get one)
Barneys CO-OP(See above)
Moule(Found in the Northwest USA)
James Perse
Scoop NYC
United Colors of Benetton (If Hugo Boss made a come back at MOA, Benetton can as well!!)
All Saints
French Connection
For second-hand gear, I’m a big fan of Everyday People and Buffalo Exchange. I occasionally stop by Urban Outfitters and Columbia/North Face (how we wound up with those stores next door to each other I’ll never fully understand).
Chain-bashing aside, I would definitely shop at an Express store in Uptown.
My favorite is probably My Sister’s Closet. My budget is pretty limited for new stuff, although I have bought cheap basic shirts at Heartbreaker. In years past I’ve purchased some of my favorite shoes at Bay Street Shoes, and they remain my favorite shoe store in town (when I can afford them, that is!). Last year VState had some nice sundresses, and sometimes I check out the clearance racks at Urban Outfitters. I will admit, however, that the bulk of my Uptown-purchased clothing comes from local garage sales. Can’t wait for the season to start up again!
I like the idea of Benetton in Uptown — seems like it could be a good fit. And, of course, more local options at all price points.
