Historic Photo of the Week: Girard and Lagoon
Hennepin-Lake, History — By Thatcher Imboden on February 25, 2013 6:07 am
Looking north on Girard Avenue at the Lagoon Avenue intersection in 1998. Note that the building on the left (NW corner) had not yet been renovated into what today is Uptown Tavern & Rooftop. When the building was renovated from being Cheapo, it became the Pickled Parrot and later became Drink.
The Lagoon Cinema was built in 1994/1995 by Paul Klodt, who had purchased the site from other developers who wanted to build a much larger movie theater/retail complex.
