LifePower yoga will leave Uptown

Life Time Fitness opened LifePower Yoga in the historic Walker Library at 2901 Hennepin Avenue approximately four years ago but recently announced it will move classes out of the facility due to growing demand and limitations at the existing facility, according to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal. Life Time apparently will continue to use the leased space for other company purposes that have yet to be announced.

Observers may recall that the historic Walker Library has had a number of challenges with retaining tenants since it was remodeled in the early 2000’s into a posh spa. Prior to the spa, the building was home to a secondhand goods store. It was originally built as the Walker Library before the library left for a modern, energy-sensitive, ADA-accessible structure across the street in 1981, which has since been replaced.
