Uptown construction update – 4/17/2011
It seems like everywhere you look in Uptown there is construction. There are at least four cranes, machines galore, periodic lane closures, lots of construction workers, and lots of wood and concrete. What’s going on in Uptown?
CB2 starts construction
A new retail building to house modern housewares store CB2 started construction this week.
MoZaic starts construction; office & retail space coming soon
The MoZaic project behind the Lagoon Cinema started construction yesterday. It will bring new Class A office space, restaurant space, public parking, a public plaza, and improved access to the Midtown Greenway.
Demolition begins for The Greenleaf
Major demloition took place today at the corner of 28th Street & Lyndale Avenue on the Greenleaf project. See the progress.
Lake & Knox Apartments (1800 Lake) underway
The 57-unit Lake & Knox Apartment project will make significant headway December 1 as its site is cleared of the existing buildings. Construction of the building will begin immediately after that.
The Greenleaf (formerly Lyndale Green) breaks ground
Brighton Development, Lyndale United Church of Christ, and Salem English Lutheran Church celebrated the start of construction of a new mixed-use affordable housing project on the northeast corner of Lyndale Avenue and 28th Street in the Lyn-Lake District of Uptown Minneapolis.
